London to Varese

800 Miles from London to Varese for Luke and Leukaemia

The causes

Ospedale di Circolo e Fondazione Macchi

Our primary aim  is to fit out the family / visitors room of the Haematology Ward in the Ospedale di Circolo e Fondazione Macchi – http://www.ospedalivarese.net/ – (Luke’s Varese hospital) with sofas, chairs, tables, books, tv, DVDs, artwork, games…anything to help make the visitors of patients more comfortable at what is clearly a tough time for them. Luke’s family spent innumerable hours in that room during Luke’s treatment with only a window to look out of and an old gurney to perch on…it would really benefit any families that are going through the same thing to have a comfortable place from which to support their loved ones.

Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research

Furthermore we would like to donate funds to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research – leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk – a fantastic charity which does great work in this field. We rode the charity’s London Bikeathon earlier this year, which was a great event in London showcasing the work of the charity. The charity already are being very supportive and encouraging of our quest and we hope to offer a healthy donation to them once all those hundreds of miles have been covered!

THANK YOU! If you have read this blog, kindly donated, or are considering it, then we are very grateful.
